Erasmus+ Mobility of Maritime School Zadar Students in Seville Successfully Completed
As part of the Erasmus+ project “Knowledge Navigation – Maritime Erasmus Horizons”, students from the Maritime School Zadar participated in a two-week internship programme held in Seville, Spain, from March 16 to March 29, 2025. The project was carried out in collaboration with experienced partner Euromind Projects S.L.U., and included professional training, a rich cultural programme, and comprehensive support for students throughout their stay.
Hands-on Internship in a Real Maritime Environment
During their stay, eight students engaged in practical training within companies specializing in nautical and ship maintenance. The partner organisations included:
Andaluza de barcos
Nautica León
Puerto Gelves
Talleres Calvo
Tienda náutica ARC
Transportes Fluviales de Coria del Río
Students performed tasks such as:
🔧 dismantling and repairing ship engines,
🛠️ replacing carburetors and fuel filters,
⚓ maintaining vessels and port equipment,
🚤 manoeuvring boats within the harbour,
📦 assisting with logistics and client interaction.
Mentors praised the students' dedication, sense of responsibility, and technical readiness. All participants highlighted the internship as a valuable experience for their future professional development.
Cultural and Life Experience
In addition to their professional training, students participated in a comprehensive cultural programme designed to immerse them in Spanish traditions and daily life. They visited some of Seville’s and the region’s most famous landmarks, including:
Plaza de España – one of the most iconic squares in Europe,
Seville Cathedral – the third-largest cathedral in the world,
Museum of Arts and Popular Customs – with a particularly interesting maritime exhibition,
The city of Cádiz – one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, where they explored history and enjoyed the coastal atmosphere.
Despite occasional rainy weather and language barriers, students made the most of their free time by exploring the city, socialising, and creating lasting memories.
Professional Mentorship and International Cooperation
The project was carried out with the excellent support of the Euromind team, who provided all necessary logistical, pedagogical, and technical assistance. Weekly evaluations and meetings with coordinators allowed students to share feedback, discuss challenges, and reflect on their progress.
At the end of the mobility, students received certificates confirming their acquired competencies:
📜 Europass Mobility Certificate,
📜 Work Placement Certificate,
📜 Language and Cultural Preparation Certificate.
